Olopatadine 0.7% Eye Drops Approved for Sale Over-the-Counter - Monthly Prescribing Reference

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved Pataday Once Daily Relief Extra Strength (olopatadine hydrochloride 0.7%; Alcon) ophthalmic solution, formerly prescribed as Pazeo®, for sale over-the-counter (OTC).

Pataday Once Daily Relief Extra Strength is indicated for the temporary relief of itchy eyes due to pollen, ragweed, grass, animal hair and dander. In addition, the Company offers Pataday Twice Daily Relief 0.1% and Pataday Once Daily Relief 0.2% for sale OTC; both received FDA approval in February 2020 and are now available.

The Company expects to have Pataday Once Daily Relief Extra Strength available online at the beginning of September 2020 with national retail availability in February 2021.
